Welcome

Thank goodness, we’re past the bare minimum SEO text. Did you see that? An AI could have written a more creative description. What soulless husk would write something so generic?

Hello, My name is Declan! I’m a creative type from Washington. Contrary to the keywords above, I actually have a personality, which is kind of the whole point of this website! I’ve been busy expanding my technical and professional capabilities at Element 7 for the past three and a half years and now have a hankering to translate those skills to more personal creative projects.

On this website, I’ll be posting creative writing including short stories, album reviews, and articles on people or things I find interesting.

I’ll also be sharing some of the video work I’ve done professionally, video interviews with creatives, and other upcoming projects.

Finally, I’ve gotten unhealthily obsessed with audio so I’ll be sharing some of my audio collages, producing, and engineering here as well.

About Me

As I hope this website will demonstrate, my main traits are being creative and working hard, but I’ve been told that does not qualify as a personality. So here are a few random facts about me that you can fabricate one from instead.

I’ve been doing martial arts for about a decade, Krav Maga and now Jiu-Jitsu; I was a junior Olympic archer who quit after developing an anxiety disorder, but I’m getting back into it; I love exploring the outdoors with my dog, Bunzi; and I know how to use a semicolon, which is pretty cool if you ask me.

Finally, to consummate our parasocial relationship, I’ll share a bit about my philosophy. I believe in people and death. We’ve been building societies since our conception, they’ve collapsed, we’ve mourned; we’ve built another. Clearly, we like doing it and I think that means something. Everybody dies and everybody’s scared to go, so we may as well go together.
