AUDIO PRODUCING
Experience
At Element 7 (the production company where I work) I’ve developed the arbitrary title of “audio guy” due to my love of speakers, microphones, and sound design.
In addition to my typical senior video producer responsibilities, I repair broken audio and do creative sound passes of final edits in Adobe Audition.
Outside of commercial work, I exhaustively research audio engineering and production. This led me to take the Hall of Justice Recording Studio’s flagship recording class; pictured here with my very serious study face.

Collaging
One of my stranger creative outlets is audio collaging. This collaging (also known as Pleasantfest to my friends) is an annual production that blends pre-established songs with assets and my own recordings to create psychedelic pseudo-concept albums.
I utilize layered effects and VO to create in-depth soundscapes; marry and alter established music; and tell complex stories in a unique medium. To avoid being sued into an early grave, I’ve released these “concept albums” here where they can safely not make money.
Every Pleasentfest worth listening to is listed below with a brief plot synopsis, a downloadable low-resolution embedded track, and a high-resolution downloadable track (recommended).

Pleasentfest 2024: Stories at the End of Time
Synopsis: Stories at the End of Time is a cerebral exploration of the rise and fall of humanity told from the perspective of an ageless being recounting our story to the personification of time. It’s pretty wacky too.
Musical styles: I explored a lot more non-English music to hammer home the global scale, as well as post/progressive rock.
Production highlights: This one includes my trippiest sound design, incorporating several samples from previous Pleasentfests in an intro that rewinds time from a textual and meta-textual perspective.
Synopsis: Reaping the Mind is a sci-fi epic about the allure of hive minds. It also involves muffins and I will not explain further.
Musical styles: This one had a lot of sci-fi music and songs about the deconstruction of self.
Production highlights: The creation of several spacey soundscapes, the launch/crash landing of a space capsule, and the creation of “The Beast’s” voice.
