What is Creative Writing?
Thank you so much for your interest in my creative writing! I’ve got some good news and bad news. The good news is if you’re reading this you’re one of the very first people to check out my website! You’re so early in fact, you’ve discovered one of the three pages dedicated to explaining how little content is on this website! That’s great for me! The bad news is there is very little content on this website.
However, don’t you worry my sweet summer child, there is technically some content around here! “An Inexhaustible Source” is a piece of creative writing I’m actually proud of and is available right now on the main writing tab or by clicking here! Worried that won’t satiate the need to drip-feed yourself content every second of every day? Then I’ve got some solidly middling news for you!
Also out now are the three aforementioned blog posts dedicated to telling you just how little content there is while sharing promises of what’s to come! You’re reading part 1 right now! This post, along with part 2, “What are Articles?” and part 3, “What are Album Reviews?” explains what exactly my arbitrary categories are. Do you need someone to explain what creative writing, articles, and album reviews are? No, probably not, but this beats a 404 page, so we’re sticking with it.
Category 1: All Writing
As you can see above the title of this post, it qualifies as “all writing.” Now, you may be asking yourself, “What is the point of an ‘all writing’ category?” Excellent point! Ask Squarespace. I needed a way to let you filter my writings by category, a function you’d expect to be easy on a platform that already offers categories, and you’d be wrong. For some god-forsaken reason, on the writing home page, if you decide to use one of my very thoughtful categories, you can’t go back to displaying all posts without refreshing the page, and I wouldn’t make you do that, you’re my sweet summer child. So, instead, the “all writing” category was born.
Category 2: Creative Writing
Creative writing includes poems, short stories, and anything else creative. You may be asking yourself, “Isn’t all writing technically creative?” Wow, what another fabulous point you beautiful rhetorical man! You’ve seen through my categorization, I am a fraud.
